Hey everyone,

I have been trying to figure this out for a while but have found no answer. How can I get the keyboard to light up whenever I type on it? I don't want it to light up only when my Blackberry thinks it needs to. Sometimes the snesor doesn't work and I am typing in the dark. I have the auto-dim on. Also, I have the app BBLight but that doesn't seem to work. What should I do?

Turn off the auto dim and it will always light up.

I see the OP is on an 8330 but the above statement is a negative on my 4.5 8320. The keyboard lighting is extremely arbitrary. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to when it wants to light up.

I upgraded the OS less than two days after buying the device so I can't recall if it was like that before the upgrade or not.

The device has a built in light sensor. If you press a button to make the screen light up while in a lit area, the keyboard will not light up. But then if you move it under a table, or turn off the lights, it will light up.

Or put your finger over the sensor/LED opening on the face.

With the previous versions of 4.5 my keyboard would not light up at times, even in a dark room. I have the sensor turn off, as always. The latest version of 4.5, at the top of this section, fixed that for me and it lights up all the time.
