Pre-release, there had been some scuttlebutt about the Curve having iTunes compatibility. While I still am holding out for the rumored 100gb widescreen iPod, I wouldn't mind having a gig or two of music on my phone.

As far as I can figure right now, the Roxio player on the Curve itself can handle AAC/M4A files, but do you still need to strip the DRM off the iTunes files? I know this was an issue with the Pearl - just wondering if anything had changed with the new media player.

As far as I know, only iTunes on the software side and iPod on the hardware side will support Apple's DRM. Considering the Curve and Pearl will soon be competing with Apple's iPhone, I would be shocked if Apple allowed Blackberry devices to play iTunes Music Store tracks.

It would be interesting to know if iTunes can manage the non-DRM'ed media on a Blackberry device, however, particularly since I don't think the Roxio software has native podcast capability.
