8320 keyboard problem
Please Login to Remove!
So here's the deal, out of nowhere, my bb 8320 has some very weird keyboard problems. Whenever space, c, z, n, or m keys are pressed all i get is "nm", or "mn" whenever m is pressed. This all started a few days back but now its happening every morning. Most of the times if gets better by itself, im starting to think by pressing them(i keep using it "normally" by using comma instead of space and so on, you can imagine what a pain in the butt it is) but i would really like to know what the real problem is and if there is anything i can do by myself to solve it.
I would really appreciate your time and any help you can provide me, thanks.

Re: 8320 keyboard problem
I recall one guy reported moisture problems caused by condensation on the BlackBerry that occurred when leaving an air conditioned car to the humid surroundings. Is something like that a possibility?
At any rate, ditto on the symptoms fitting moisture exposure.

Re: 8320 keyboard problem
Spent the night without AC on just in case, phone once again next to bed, once more it appeared with the keyboard all messed up, im starting to think its something that happens when its just not used at all for too long.

Re: 8320 keyboard problem
I don't know of an explanation why it would get better with use but then come back after the keys haven't been used for a while, but if you've ruled evertying thing else out and it's repeatable then there's no arguing about the fact of it.
I don't suppose the device is under warranty, is it?
What about a trustworthy repair shop in your area?
There's online, too. Check the sponsors of the forum if you decide to go that route.

Re: 8320 keyboard problem
It just got a lot worse, I tried leaving it turned off while i sleep to see if it helped. But once I turned it on it acted normally for like half a minute then it went back to its craziness but much worse, now in the uppe keys like for example: e, r, u, i, o, p, etc. Whenever i press them is as if i've clicked the track ball...so right now i really dont know whats wrong. Im definitely going to take it to a repair shop now, but i wouldnt like to go without any previous knowledge of the problem so they dont take it as if i dont know anything and try to rip me off. Thanks.

Re: 8320 keyboard problem
Does really sound like liquid damage. Be aware the damage has been done and it's bad--at least that's my bet, I'm sorry to say.

Re: 8320 keyboard problem
water indicators on phone aswell as on battery are ok, but yes it simply seems its moisture damage...its annoying since keys are ok now but whenever i press the upper keys the menu pops up and doesnt let me finish what i type before its sent. Am i looking at replacing the keyboard only or the full phone?

Re: 8320 keyboard problem
See what others say. But FWIW, as water damage is typically excluded from insurance, voids warranty, and so forth, I've believed the reason is the damage is usually so widespread that it isn't simple or inexpensive to correct and you are instead looking at essentially replacing the device anyway. ..... That's why I wrote what I wrote. Be ready to hear the worst, and be suspicious if the repair shop doesn't mention water damage as a possibility and says they will fix it cheap.

Re: 8320 keyboard problem
The damage is most likely to the keypad contacts which are part of the mainboard. Replacement of the full device is likely your only option.

Re: 8320 keyboard problem
Like predicted by many, useless to try repairing it. Took it to a repair shop they went ahead opened it cleaned it, even changed some sort of sensors behind the keyboard but nothing worked they spent an hour and a half trying. So i guess its time for a new bb! thanks for help tho.
