Default media sync, iTunes, and other questions

Please Login to Remove!

So, I would like to start putting some music on my curve but I have some concerns. I have an ipod with a bunch of songs on it but the itunes account that was used to load the songs is no longer. My computer crashed so I lost all the songs that were on the account. Is their any way to get them off of that ipod onto my bb. I have since made a new account and put some songs on my bb via media sync. This brings me to my next question. Is their any way to just ad music the the bb without actually syncing it to my itunes account?

The easiest may be to just enable mass storage mode (search) and the computer will see the microSD card as a removable drive, then just drag and drop files. Or use media sync in desktop manager if you want to be more automated.

No idea about getting songs off the ipod. Never been there, and your problem is one reason I didn't go there. See what others say.

You cannot transfer songs FROM your iPod to another other device nor to a computer.

It's ALWAYS advisable to backup your iTunes library on a REGULAR basis to some sort of external medium (or two).

If you have an iPod with all of its songs but your iTunes library doesn't have any songs, there are other alternatives besides going back to the CDs.

I have used PD Rescue which enables you to transfer your iPod music back to your iTunes library.

If your library is less than 5GB then you may want to use your local BB's SD card for storage of music.

if your library is large then you may want to try Jam11 which will enable you to stream your iTunes library from your PC or Mac onto your BB. It was just released in BB App World.
