I've got yet another problem, now with this error:

Uncaught exception:
jave.lang.illigalStateException

The user gets this whenever he powers up the BB 8700. I know some ring tones have been downloaded since it left me, so something could've messed up because of a flakey file?

Also, the device seems to have lost Internet. Nothing happens with clicking on the browser and when pressing alt+O doesn't bring up the Outbox.

Does anyone have any idea as to how to fix this error?

Is there any message the Exception? Some thing like blah blah is in not valid? An IlligalStateException just means that something has happened that should not have been able to and it does not have a way out.

It sounds like the best bet might be to whip it and re-install a clean version of the BB OS.

That's what worked for me - used JL Commander to wipe and started over.
