Default [BBAlerts 1.65] Issues w/OS 4.5 on TMO 8320 Curve

Please Login to Remove!

A question for those of you running BBAlerts 1.65 on an 8320 Curve with any version of the 4.5 OS. I am aware that BBAlerts is not officially supported w/OS 4.5. However it seems from what I have read on the main BBAlerts thread that most people don't have any issues.

With that said, I am trying to find out if any other folks are experiencing a particular issue or if I am the only one.

All of my PIN alerts are recognized as emails. So whatever I have my email LED alert set for is what I get when I receive a PIN alert. If you look in the BBAlert logs it shows "Email from XXXXXXXX" where XXXXXXXX in my 8-digit PIN number.

Does anyone else experience this? Is there a workaround? I would love to see a stable version of this for 4.5.

Is there any other 3rd party LED notification app besides BBAlerts out there? I have tried MatrixAlerts (?) but it is overkill. I just want simple LED notification for the basic functions.

8320 Curve: T-Mobile
OS: 4.5.0.81

There is e-mobile Alerts.

I have all three (BB Alerts, e-mobile Alerts, AlertMatrix) and use all three simultaneously; working with each other to give me the alerts/reminders I want for who I want.

e-mobile alerts looks good. Wish it had a trial though.

Your issue with Email vs. PIN is a known issue on OS 4.5 - it is not the fault of the program.

On this level of OS, the PIN message object reports that it is an Email. RIM is aware of the issue.

Ahh I did not know that. Hopefully this will be fixed on a future release of 4.5.

So can one assume that any of the other programs such as E-mobile Alerts will also give me problems as well using this 4.5 version?

Does anyone know if/when RIM is planning to address this in further 4.5 releases?

I would assume it is affecting more 3rd party apps than just BBAlerts?
