Verizon Wireless Plans

I, along with many other people on this forum im sure, am very interested in the storm. im positive it will be my next phone, regardless of when it releases . the only thing i am worried about is, what will i need to pay monthly
i have yet to own a blackberry, and have heard things like, to own a blackberry you must pay 80 a month? or something along those lines, i also heard that now verizon wont allow you to have a plan under 30 a month for smartphones.
i am currently on a nationwide family share plan with my family, i get 200 txts a month.
Could someone please tell me what a price i would be paying monthly if i were to get the storm without internet and all that jazz.

Add $35 for the line you want Data on. This is Unlimited Data, with out BES. There's another, I forget the price but it's on 10 MB, but allows BES. The BES with Unlimited is pretty expensive... But for personal use and your not working in an Enterprise environment, BIS is find...

Unlimited data on VZW for BIS is 29.99 and you will need a data plan if you want a BB. BIS is blackberry internet service. Which is basically a data plan for consumers.

It gives you email, internet, and IM like Gtalk and AIM from RIM which uses data. Text plans are extra.

What's the difference between the "Blackberry Solution Unlimited data usage" and the "Email and Web for Blackberry" besides the price? Are they both unlimited data but one is BES and one is BIS?

Okay, I'm glad this is a topic here. So, basically, one is able to get a minimum voice plan ($39.99) plus a data plan ($29.99) equaling $69.99 a month? Does anyone happen to know off hand if a discount (20%) is given through your employer, if it would be 20% off the total $69.99 monthly cost, or only the $39.99 voice plan?

My discount through my employer applies to all parts of the plan, including any usage extras like texting plans and the BES plan. Mine does not apply to the optional features like roadside assistance and insurance. Mine also applies to any accessories bought online through Verizon or at any vzw store.

Play BB Peal MP3 Player in Car -Update Help!
I have a BB Pearl and I purchased the 2.5 mm adapter with Mic from Best Buy, the adapter worked fine, but when ever I got a call, the person to whom I was speaking with would hear an echo. I spoke to someone at best buy and they said that it is possible that he mic from my audio systme in my car (which is voice activated) may interfer with the reception of the call bc when I plug my BB into the auxilary oulet, it may trigger the mic of the audio system thus creating a too many mic affect. Any advice?

I wonder if it doesn't show a discount for me because it's on the same page as those other options. The Gov. discount should include the data and email too. Now if i select the BlackBerry® Nationwide Email & Messaging all in one it takes the discount off the whole thing.

My employer discount applies to my enter plan.
Also, in case anyone is wondering, the unlimited BES plan through VZW is $49.99.
Everyone is correct about texting not being included. The package that I currently have with VZW to cover that is $30 a month which includes unlimited text, picture and video messaging for ALL lines on my account to any carrier (read not per line but any line on my account shares this plan for no extra charge). I believe that VZW might be offering a better plan to cover this but I haven't looked at this for a little while.
Also, I know that with the BES plan, you can bundle the data and voice into one plan for a better price. I would think that you could do the same for the basic BlackBerry plan but who knows... this is Verizon that we are talking about here.
Enjoy the switch to BlackBerry!! I don't think that you will be disappointed.

This all sounds so confusing.
Nice and easy for us here in the UK.
£40 / month over 18 months, get you 600 minutes call time, unlimited texts and I think (500Mb / month) web and data.
£45 / month gets you 900 minutes instead of 600.

TMO is the way to go. $60 bucks/Month you get 1000 min, unlimited data, unlimited txt (SMS). End of story. Switch carriers.

you know what guys. I don't see a BB plan with voice anywhere on verizonwireless.com for $70. I see that it cost $80 for 450 min. Where do you see this $70 plan?
Here is what I Found for $80:
A bundled package with voice and wireless data for quick and easy remote access to email over your BlackBerry handheld.
Data usage from within the National Enhanced Services and the Extended National Enhanced Services Rate and Coverage Areas
Unlimited Anytime Minute plans include unlimited calling with anyone on any network in the U.S.
Data Access for Email
Unlimited National Calling
Unlimited Night & Weekend Minutes
No Domestic Long Distance Charges
3-way calling
Voice Mail
Caller ID
Then if you want unlimited text, that will cost you another $20. Damn, Verizon are a bunch of crooks.

Hate to bust your bubble again. It's not unlimited data:
Terms and Service agreement says:
Anyone using more than 5 GB per line in a given month is presumed to be using the service in a manner prohibited above, and we reserve the right to immediately terminate the service of any such person without notice. We also reserve the right to terminate service upon expiration of Customer Agreement term.

The $70 plan is actually the $40 voice plan with the $30 dollar internet and email add-on.
Does anyone know if the $99 blackberry plan with text, email and data include tethering?
