Default 9000 Bug : Menu Button Selects?

Please Login to Remove!

I can use the menu button as a "select" button. For example, if I click it on a menu option, it selects it instead of closes the menu.
Does anyone else have this issue?

New feature?
This is probably the most annoying "update" I have ever came across.

I don't have .247, and from what others have said about it, will never go to that update, but if that "new feature" is in .247, i definately won't go to it.

What's the point in adding a "feature" like that?

I got used to it very quickly and I much rather it this way now. It makes it quick to select the "common function" when you need to. Like when sending an email or text message, "Send" is the default selection, so you just have to press the menu button twice right quick instead of moving to a different button to select it. Just have to get used to using the back button to quit a menu which didn't take long for me. I was doing it fine within a half hour of the update.

Also, check out holding down the menu button now. It pops up the task switcher which is nice for one-handed phone use.

Best feature of the menu button (especially on the Storm). Wouldn't have it ANY other way!

What about .247 has been the deterrent thus far if you don't mind me asking? I've been running it for a while, and it seems pretty stable.

Well, the apparent .rem bug for one.
I shouldn't have really said NEVER, but I won't likely upgrade to another OS unless released by carrier; because my carrier .216 is working great.
I believe had read in the beta section that the 240's OS's were a bad build.

*shrugs* Its not a build I want to risk trying. Once they fix the .rem bug, and release a version that is not released 2 days after the other latest version...maybe then.
Of course, who knows when t-mob uk will release another OS.

i have no .rem bug here. IIRC in .247 it is fixed compared to .244 also the only "bad" betas released were .240 and .241, if i'm not mistaken. But then again you have to take everything with a grain of salt. I am still running into the font/theme issue with .247, where everyone else that I've seen that had it before, no longer have it. I am also still expierencing the "Alarms/Escalating" issue. where it does not escalate at all when it goes off. And I have seen those reports die after the firt set of .2xx betas were released

The .rem bug was definitely fixed in this build. I'm still waiting to see the media player bug fixed. Where if you skip back to a song, then let it play through, it starts skipping back songs instead of forward to the next song.

Other than that, this release has been pretty stable.

"and release a version that is not released 2 days after the other latest version"
As for that happening, no one knows how long that carrier had their hands on this version. They could have been testing it for months before it was ever leaked. So you can't really be feared off by that.

I'm just used to closing the menu via menu button that it's quite an annoyance for my habits. I'll have to get used to it, but it'll take some time. :(
