I’ve noticed that some people are having this problem and I’d like to know if there is a solution.

I’m on Telus (CDMA) running an 8130 with BIS. I’ve upgraded to 4.5.0.77 and so far everything seems to be working fine EXCEPT that I can’t change my homepage from the Telus default page. I’ve tried opening my browser, going to options> browser configuration... but then I can’t select “Home Page Address” it just skips right over it! I’ve also tried going to the page I want and then to options but there is no “use current” button to change the homepage at all!

Has anyone found a way around this or should I just save my breath and reinstall?

After trying to update the OS and resending the Service Books to fix the problem (which they didn't) I finally found a solution:

The browser can be successfully changed. It took a little perserverance but I finally managed to get the browser changed in my Curve, and made it stick. My first step was to go into the browser and then into google. Then menu>options>browser config. I have everything checked off except Support JavaScript. If the above steps do not work there is an additional process to add to the above. As soon as you save the Browser Configuration, go directly to General Properties. Change the Default Font Size to any number. Close the browser by clicking options>close but do not use back button to close. You can go back in later and change the font size to whatever you want. I got this last step from another thread dealing with this same issue. Of course I've also done batt pulls and sent service book that could have added to the fix. Good Luck

I followed this step by step and now I have Google as my homepage again! Yea!
