Default Can't Change Browser Home Page - Possible Solution!

Please Login to Remove!

Ive noticed that some people are having this problem and Id like to know if there is a solution.

Im on Telus (CDMA) running an 8130 with BIS. Ive upgraded to 4.5.0.77 and so far everything seems to be working fine EXCEPT that I cant change my homepage from the Telus default page. Ive tried opening my browser, going to options> browser configuration... but then I cant select Home Page Address it just skips right over it! Ive also tried going to the page I want and then to options but there is no use current button to change the homepage at all!

Has anyone found a way around this or should I just save my breath and reinstall?

Default

After trying to update the OS and resending the Service Books to fix the problem (which they didn't) I finally found a solution:

My first step was to go into the browser and then into google. Then menu>options>browser config. I have everything checked off except Support JavaScript. I scrolled down to the bottom and clicked on Use Current. I believe as you back out you are prompted to Save. Other setting are as follows - Show Images: On WML & HTML Pages. Emilation Mode: Blackberry. Start Page: Start Page. Default Search Provider: (should say) Google. Home Page Address: about: start. These are the settings I am running and my browser button goes straight to the Internet Browser every time I hit it. I have no connectivity issues.

If the above steps do not work there is an additional process to add to the above. As soon as you save the Browser Configuration, go directly to General Properties. Change the Default Font Size to any number. Close the browser by clicking options>close but do not use back button to close. You can go back in later and change the font size to whatever you want. I got this last step from another thread dealing with this same issue. Of course I've also done batt pulls and sent service book that could have added to the fix. Good Luck
I followed this step by step and now I have Google as my homepage again! Yea!
