Default OS 5.0.0.314 for Bold 9000 and Curve 8900

Leaked: OS 5.0.0.314 for Bold 9000 and Curve 8900

The guys over at BerryReview got a hot tip and landed OS 5.0.0.314 for both the Bold 9000 and Curve 8900. If you've been hanging on to a buggy 5.0 build, now is your chance to upgrade. No word of any major finding or fixes for these, so be sure to leave a comment and let us know what you find out.

*OS Disclaimer - Please Read: Keep in mind this is NOT an official release and as such is not supported by RIM or your Carrier. If you choose to install, do so at your own risk and only if you're comfortable in the process of upgrading and downgrading your device software. It is quite normal during operating system development for certain features to be crippled or disabled while others are tested, and these beta builds often reflect that. They are not always better. Depending on your BlackBerry comfort level, it may be best for you to wait for community feedback on a build before deciding to download and install for yourself or simply wait for the next official release. If you require support, you will find it in our CrackBerry forums via our extremely knowledgeable community base - do not contact your carrier or RIM for Beta OS technical support (their first course of action will be to advise you to downgrade to a supported OS). Follow the links below for more information and instructions. *

Installed without any problems! Didn't have to reload BBM 5.0, and didn't have to reconfigure anything. Only thing that I noticed is a new SMS & MMS Icon and I have an extra G-Mail icon (2 for the same mail account).

NOTE: Clicking into the contact folder now allows the option to back up your contacts wirelessly (in my case with T-Mobile). Terms said it was a free service and can be managed online by logging into your T-Mobile account. Tried it and it is apparently active and synced my contacts without a hitch. Shortly thereafter, got a confirmation message from TMO confirming the process was completed sucessfully!

I keep getting stuck on the status meter on the reboot. Tried wiping and got the same issue. Guess I'm going back a version.

UPDATE: I got it loaded up. Just wish I had backed up my apps.

Did those of you with .190 or .238 do a wipe before installing or did you go straight to the upgrade?

Excellent upgrade.

OS 5.0.0.314 is the best one for me as of now.

Running well with all my 3rd party apps and even Gmail apps.

Good job RIM.

I upgraded after a wipe from 5.0.0.238, went without a problem.
However im having a problem with my wallpaper, it seems to work on the front page, but then when i hit the blackberry key to expand the menus, it uses either a white background or the stock background. have pulled battery several times, tried different themes, and different pictures, but i still can't get the same picture to stay as the background on both menus.. anyone catch this yet?

Thumbs up White background

Mr. Knight, I'm having the same problem with the theme. Front page (home) seems to be fine.....other pages are white or black...lost all ring tones-- re-sent service books and they returned. Everything else seems to be working quite well.....at least for now.

Did a wipe (using BBSAK 1.6) from 5.0.0.238 on the Bold. Following apps installed, OTA:

GoogleSync
Google Maps
Facebook (1.7)
BBM (5.0)
Quickpull Free (doesnt work correctly. Devs suggest a 5.0.0.250+ build)
BerryWeather
Smrtguard

All apart from QP are working correctly. So far not had any of the random resets / dropped calls that plagued .238 either. Only time will tell. It does feel snappier than .238 as well.

No reboots for me. OS is pretty stable. Can't save Enhanced Audio settings in the phone options though.

Media player bug is fixed.

BT now works good for me. Can now pair both phone and audio to my Pioneer deck.

Wirelessly posted

Phone seems to reboot constantly unless the radio is off or I am in 3G coverage.
