Default GOOGLE VOICE which number did you dial?

Please Login to Remove!

I have an 8900 with a real number and a google voice number going to it. I have no way to tell which number the caller reached me on....i'd hate to call back from a different number...or which number to txt from etc...

Best way to tell is by comparing call logs between the BB Call log and Gvoice app, if the GVoice app shows an incoming call then they called your GVoice number.

I would prefer to answer the call knowing which number the person dialed BEFORE the call. Am I the only one thinking this?

Yes, it would be nice to know, but I don't know how you would accomplish this it while still knowing who is calling. You can have GV show your GV number on your phone instead of the caller ID information--that would tell you which number the caller dialed.

It should really be able to do both. Not necessarily show the GV number, but maybe have the google number be able to have a different ringtone associated to it.

I don't know how this would be possible since the ringtone is governed/controlled by the phone and not by Google. On most phones, you can assign a different ringtone for a caller but that is based on caller ID so it will only work if the Google number is displayed. I don't see how it can work both ways.

Wirelessly posted (L'neuf trois)

Did you turn on call screening for Google Voice. The way I have it set up, the caller I.d. shows my GV number. But when I answer it, the friendly lady tells me who's calling. I then have the option to take the call or send it to VM.

I forgot about that--that's a good suggestion. I'll do that myself. Thanks.

What do you mean by free numbers? Are you referring to your own google voice number?
