Freezing on 9700
Please Login to Remove!
Since the last 2 f/w updates (now at the latest), I've noticed that my 9700 freezes intermittently...no matter what app it's in...and others I've spoken to have also noticed the same issue. Today, I hung up a call...and it stayed on the "disconnected" screen for 30 seconds until I was able to do anything at all on the device. Has anyone else noticed this on their 9700's? I get freezing at least once a day, and the battery gets pulled each day when I wake up.

Wirelessly posted (T-Mobile 9700)
It happens to me occasionally. I'm running 9700/5.0.0.586. For me it might happen once every couple of days and the 30 seconds isn't that big a deal.

Mine has been freezing since day one when on .442, it also froze when i tried .656 when it was in beta so I dumped it and went back to .442. My carrier did the official release of .656 and I am now on it and same crap, it actually crashed and resarted it self the other day while the phone was sitting in my truck just driving along. I don't know about this 9700 anymore, it sure works well when it does and I like it a lot but getting sick of the little bugs. A $600 phone should not do this.

For me, the freezing issue started with .593 upwards. I never had that issue before, though I've had others which have subsequently disappeared since .593.

Anyone solve the freezing issues?
Mine still does it every day and I'm ready to throw it at a wall!
Not that I have many apps, but I am removing every add-on to see what happens.

This is not giving me any warm fuzzies. I am finally going to be able to upgrade from my 8310 here this coming week and I was going right for the 9700. Is this a real common problem? Any other bugs I need to know about?

Assuming you have not damaged the device...
Return the device to the stock system, no aftermarket applications, no aftermarket theme, no microSD card. Do you still have a problem? If so, go back to the seller.
If not, change ONE thing at a time, wait 24 hrs, and see what you got. If all is still ok, make one more change, and wait. Repeat until you've isolated the issue.

Response To Freezing T9700
I think I found the cause the this constant freezing issue which has caused me nothing but greif for the last month..
at least 50x a day (no joke) my BB would freeze up.. sometimes when unlocking it.. sometiems when checkings txts or bbms.. randomly!
I only ahve the weather channel app, the score.. and buzzring (which changes the LED colors).. all of which i've had for about 4months..
I recently removed the data package but kept the social black berry which gives me access to all my apps and bbms etc..
I DID NOT remove my email acc's and have noticed every1nce in a while my bbm would filp over to my email settings page..
I deleted my email accounts.. and VOILA! NO MORE FREEZING!
Remove your email accounts (readd if you have data) and that SHOULD resolve ur issues.. it did for me!
Cheers

My 9700 occasionally freezes and I have a solution to "unfreeze" it. Just hold down the Menu key until the task switcher comes up. Scroll to a different app and select it. It may go to a white screen for a second or two and then unfreeze. Try it and see if it works for you.
