IMHO: Jabra JX10 is the only way to go. Been through many Moto, Sony and Plantronic heasets. Not a one of them is even close to the same quality, fit, sound, and all out cool factor as the Jabra.

I can even us it in the car, at 85 MPH on a crappy dallas highway and it sounds they are sitting next to you.

It is expensive, but when I add up all the $ I spent on the others (That now sit in a drawer in the office) trying to get good sound it would have been a bargin at twice the price.

Agreed.

I've sold all my other headsets (640, 700 etc.) and now only own the JX10.

I use it every day. It's rock solid.

How is outgoing sound on the JX10? Loud and relatively clear?

It sure is pricey . . .

Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I have had conversations with other callers who were using both headsets and phones and they all say that I sound fine. I'm sure the device the person on the other end can affect the overall quality but I have had no complaints so far. I recommend buying from a retailer that has a good return policy so you can try it for a week or two and see if it works for you.

hey everyone. I see a lot of you are using the plantronics 510. Have any of you had issues while using it? I'm mainly concerned about the obvious echo problem that SOOOO many headsets have. No problems with the plantronics 510?

Anyone familiar with BlueCube, Iogear or Planet Wireless?

All around the same price point here in Canada ($80-$100 CDN). I'll be ordering up a new 7130e, and while I have a wired headset that I will use for the time being, I definately will move to BT for sure.

thx.

It seems to me that for the most part, we're getting past the echo issues and other technical difficulties, now its mostly a question of look and comfort. I personally love the H700, because I don't want to go for hours on end with an earbud in my ear. The H700 is likely the smallest and lightest headset available, and as stated above, can be turned off completely by closing the boom.

Both the Jabra JX10 and the Plantronics 640 are lighter than the HS700.

I have a BB 8700 and just bought the Jabra BT800, and I am disappointed with the loudness level of the earpiece. I also didn't realize that it needs it own charger and can get juice from a standard BB USB.

What do people recommend as the best bluetooth headset (ignoring cost), with the loudest headset volume, that can also use the BB USB charger?

I like the fact that the earpiece goes into your ear rather than resting outside your ear like the Motorola's. I think that is why they are never loud enough for me. It seems like a good combo with the 8700c.
I hope this helps.
I second the Jabra-JX-10 as a combo with my 8700g....I have never had a problem with the two finding each other after the first connect. I think the JX10 is without a doubt the smallest, highest quality headset out there. The designer has worked for Bang & Olufson and you can tell by the quality build and design of the product. The sound level is terrific, even in a windy car, and the ease of use is terrific. I can have it on all day and it is so light you forget it's there. Lastly, if you contact support at Jabra they will send you extra earclips...I emailed them and they sent it out in the mail that day!

I bought a pair the day they came out and returned them the next day.

I loved the concept but didn't find the headset usable off the glasses. Since I couldn't see wearing the sunglasses inside they just didn't make sense to me.

The problem I have is wearing my glasses with my earpiece. Jabra B250V (I believe) Just thought it would make more sense. Thanks for the input.

LOL

You see, I'd be afraid I'd start bumping into things, people etc. inside when it was too dark.

Sorry, should have specified. I meant sunglasses, not eyeglasses. I wear mine indoors sometimes, when I am on on the PC a lot.

The more I look into BT headsets, the more confused things seem to become. I order my 7230e next Friday, and then will be ordering a headset. I think I have narrowed things down to:
  • Plantronics 645 - I like the thought of DSP, but early reviews suggest it isn't as good as the predecessor 640.
  • Plantronics 640 - has CNET's Editor's Choice, but was reviewed several months ago - so is it still the best of the bunch?
  • Jabra BT800 - I love the information screen, it has DSP, and gets very good reviews except for incoming sound levels.
  • Jabra JX10 - Has a very strong user-base/following, but seems to get love-hate reviews.

Thoughts??

Thanks.

It's really been beaten to death here jww.

Honestly, you can go wrong with any of the one's you're looking out.

I'd narrow it down to the 645 or the JX10 though. Don't bother with the 640 since the 645 is better. The BT800 is BIG.
