In a month or two, Rogers Wireless will be changing the form factor of their 7100's to the 7100V form factor. The insides will be the same, but they are dropping the current styling in favour of the 'other' 7100 styling.

The 7100x and 7100v are identical form factors (only color is different).

There are two main 7100 form factors:
1. The 7100v/7100x/7100g all use the same form factor. They are all the superior form factor. These three models are all identical except for color.
2. The 7100t/7100r is the inferior form factor that's not as easy to type on.

I can pretty much guarantee that any new-look 7100r will not have the same colors as either 7100v or 7100x. Same form factor, but different colors (much like 7100v and 7100x are externally different only in colors).

Hmm... You may be right. However, the keypad is similiar (or identical). Much better than the current 7100t/7100r.

As opposed to other BlackBerries, that aren't built for typing? Actually they suck for typing compared to the x/v/g, as almost everyone has been saying. The keypads are shaped awkwardly.

I don't know about the existing 7100x or g, but I know that the new 7100r will have gaps between the keys... ie. the keys won't be immediately beside the next key. I guess the gap is going to be 2-3 millimeters.

why would they change the format of the keys, the others look like the typing would take a bit longer. I say they should leave it the way it is. When will they fully change everything. My understanding is prob b4 the holiday season

I dunno... I like the keys of the 7100r/t best. I tried the 7100g from a friend on Cingular. The keys are "rubbery" and "mushy". I didn't like the feel of them at all; the response of the 7100t's keys are a little nicer. But the 7100x is pretty slick; black, shiny, with the O2 "water" interface. But that's just my opinion. But I think it is nice that RIM is putting things in different form factors. Gives them a little flexibility in the style department.

I have the O2 "water interface" or theme on my Rogers 7100R. I downloaded it from a RIM software site for free and installed it myself....sweet....

Rogers has their "new" 7100 out. It's the same old 7100g that's been around for ages. Why would they bother coming out with this model with the screen problem, when their old form factor has been updated (e.g. 7105t) with a better screen, send/end keys etc.?

Ya... they sent the pricing and spec sheets out to the dealers last week... I have a copy of the pdf's in my email. Kinda interesting that the first one calls it the 7100G in the title eh.

Anyhow, it's identical to the 7100G. I don't remember what the pricing said, but I would imagine it's the same as it is now.
