Problem solved. I explored my device memory and was surprised to find a bunch of music in the music folder. After deleting and setting reserved pic memory to zero, I now have 26.5mb free after battery pull.

You will need to perform the procedure stated in the first post of this thread with Desktop Manager, on a PC.

If your email, call logs, and texts etc., are deleted due to low memory, there is no getting them back unless you made a backup previously.

Two items that I have no use for that I would like to uninstall...

Do you know what .cod's I need to delete to get rid of these two items? Thanks..

Those are pushed from your carrier AT&T. They are not applications, basically just shortcut icons.

Highlight and hide them.

Wow! What a difference a few more things make! I had taken off everything I could through app loader, but just used your instructions to go in and edit...voice dialing, PTT, preloaded themes, etc. Thanks for helping me put Blackberry Maps on my ATT phone!

Great step by step instructions!!

Edited to add:
Is there a way to get rid of Telenav and streaming music and music ID on an ATT? Thanks!

Great guide, JC. It took me a couple hours to get it right, but I increased my free memory from 14mb to 18mb. I got rid of BB Maps as I have Google and Telenav, plus PTT, and all the Themes I don't use.

Thanks so much for your help and the considerable time spent putting this together.

I am trying to first, put back on voice activated dialing I took off to save room before I got a micro card, so I went into the deleted folder and did a search for *.vad and put them all up one level. and I secondly want to remove the BBerry theme to update it with that page that has 3 on it.

So I went to update it, I did get the main page with all the options. I checked the iphone theme to remove it. No problem, then I did not see anything showing that I moved the .vad files. do I have to move those files to the desktop or something?

ANd when I said, I will just start anyway, It asked for a disk. Something It had never done

I stopped and figured I would ask you because I didn't want it to revert it to 4.2

IF you can help I'd appreciate it

Thanks again
Eric

You need to put the vad .cod files back into the java folder (where they originally were.) Then run application loader and it should put them back on. Why something is asking your for a disk, I have no idea.

Thanks John. I just assumed in my panic as to why it was doing it, that it did not work.

I thought I had the concept down pretty well, and apparently I did. Laying in bed, I just happened to test the left convenience key and it worked, and also the bberry theme was gone.

I have NO idea at all why it asked. But it asked twice

Thanks again

Everyone, if you like all or some default wallpapers but doesn't like the space it takes up, check out this thread http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...them-here.html and look for zip that includes just pictures. You can add it and set it as wallpaper. That way it will take much less space.

I don't support MaxMem. I've never used it and, most likely, never will. It's so simple to just manually remove what I don't want.
