Default $25 Curve

Please Login to Remove!

First off, if this has been covered, I apologize.

Amazon is NOT the only place to get a cheap Curve. Plus, they are back-ordered.

I wanted to go through the process before posting to make sure things went smooth, and they have. I ordered my Curve last night through Free T Mobile Cell Phones and it will delivered via FedEx TOMORROW! Yeah! It's $75 bucks, plus you get a $50 dollar T-Mo warranty. The only requirement is that you be a new T-Mo customer and you've gotta get a Voice/Data plan. You don't HAVE to get voice and data, it'll just be a bit higher.

Fine print: If you cancel AFTER the 14 day trial and BEFORE 120 days, they will charge you $449.

I hope this helps some of you!

Googling shows a few complaints about ushopwireless which is another name for Venicom. I am not sure about it. People complain about not getting their rebate checks rapidly. In this case though you are only shelling out $75 up front, and it's not clear whether the rebate check is coming from Venicom or someplace else.

I also want to know if this one comes with the pouch in the box.

Does anyone know if the Amazon one comes with the pouch? That's probably 25 bucks right there if you have to buy a case or pouch...

So far my shipment has been tracked and FedEx will deliver it to me tomorrow before 3PM. They said my rebate will be in the package.

When I did call a couple of times, they seemed very helpful and knowledgeable. Anyway, I'll know whether they are reputable or not once my package gets here tomorrow. I will re-post then.

If I remember correctly, the website showed that the rebate was a mail-in rebate from T-Mobile for 50 bucks.

Cool Nixxta, I am wishing the best for you. Please post when you get the phone and let me know if you get the slide-in pouch as well in the box.

It looks like this offer is much simpler than some of the older ones that people were complaining about in older posts. (example: this 2005 thread from rumor mill. Then again it says the offer expires today so maybe there will be no offer tomorrow...

Yeah, I'll sure let you know...

Don't worry about that expiration date. It will update to the next date at 2:00-300 AM like it did last night.

It was very simple: Just fill out their form and give them payment info. You select your plan and everything right there on the form. They run your credit and then issue you an e-mail with tracking information. Very straightforward and to the point. And none of my calls were sent to India. Can't say the same for Nextel/Sprint. I know this isn't the actual phone company, but it's always good to get a CSR in America anymore.

Nixxta, nothing personal, but you really sound like a shill. I look forward to seeing your unboxing photos.

Haha. After reading my posts I thought people might actually think that. I am in no way affiliated with this company. The only reason I posted was to let people know that they didn't have to wait a month to get theirs from Amazon.

I'm still anxiously awaiting the FedEx truck. Unfortunately there won't be any unboxing photos since the only camera I have will be the one on the blackberry.

Okay, FedEx just came and I've opened the box. The box contains the unit, charger, holster and earbud and battery... I'm gonna go play. Be back later!

What about a picture of yourself holding your new curve? Taken with a mirror or something! ;) I think there is quite a thread in the Pearl forum with people and their Pearls, taken from the Pearl.

(btw, how much was shipping cost?)

Thanks!

heres my question - is it a brand new, sealed box unit? Is everything in the box that's supposed to be (not like a brown box mish mash)...

Thanks!

Here's a pic of everything except the Curve since i'm using it to take the camera. Yes, everything was sealed... I forgot to mention that you get the PC USB cable, too.

I got overnight shipping, and it was $29.99. Two day shipping is your other option and it's $19.99.

Cool

I want to purchase from them but they do not offer any family plans below $79.99. They were very courteous and candid on the phone and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them if it weren't for that limitation. Despite some questionable google results about them, which some of you have pointed out, I feel they are trustworthy enough to purchase from. Anything I read was not only from a long time ago but they all seemed to be about some sort of triple or quadruple rebate promotion that went sour.

One of the reasons I want this phone is for the unlimited @ home (UMA on both lines will cost $20) which will greatly reduce the amount of minutes we use, allowing me to select the lower $59.99 myFaves 1000 promo family plan. Amazon offers this plan but this other company does not.

If it weren't for this limitation then I would have gotten the phones sooner and with a 1-year contract. I paid $200 for two lines from Amazon for 2 years but this would have been $250 for two lines for 1 year. And 2 weeks sooner.

Im almost positive, like any other wireless provider, you can change the plan once you get the phone. I think the only thing you need to do is have a minimum plan that amounts to a certain amount of money per month (thats a way these companies make money)...

Thanks for posting the photo - so youre pretty happy with the purchase and feel that its a kosher?

Yes, I'm very happy thus far. Everything works great. The $50 T-Mobile rebate was also in the package.
By the way, I don't know if it's just me or not, but T-Mobile has awesome customer service. I've talked to a few different people within the last few days, and each call was pleasant.

So far so good! Later on I'm gonna tether my laptop and try out Edge. My cable connection is 12.5 Mbps, so it'll definitely be for when I'm away from home.
