Starting about three OS 4.5 versions ago, I noticed when someone would call me my phone wouldn't ring when it was set to loud with my ringtone set. I tried other ringtones, it still did this once in a while.

2-3 OS 4.5 versions later, it still does it, and now it sometimes won't sound off my ringtone when I receive an SMS.

Anyone else have this problem, and figure out a way to fix it? I'm missing a lot of calls because of this.

Are you using the preinstalled ringtones. Have you tried to setting up a custom profile? My wife had a similiar issue with her 8130. She ended up getting the 8530 so I didn't pursue the issue.

I'm using my own ringtones. Not sure about the custom profile...all I did was change the ringtones for the loud profile, been doing that since before 4.5OS was ever released. Only over the last few versions of 4.5 have I been seeing this problem.

Still not hearing my ringtones. I can't even manually listen to them, I keep getting told "Media Processor Busy" with "Error Playing" in the top right corner of the screen. Never had this happen before...

If I do a battery pull, it fixes the issue but eventually they'll stop playing again and I'll have to do another battery pull. Anyone else having this issue? I haven't installed anything new, running the most recent OS in the stickies, running GMail / BeeJiveIM / BBWeather...I've been using these apps for over a year with no issues.

I am also having same problem. Its driving me crazy! My service provider, telus, says its a blackberry glitch but has no solution other than pull the battery and reboot!

Mine has been working lately without needing anymore battery pulls. My guess is that something triggers this issue, and the issue will continue until you do a battery pull. What the trigger is, is beyond me. If I find out I'll let everyone know, including RIM.

The profile in your phone is probably corrupted. At times you may need to go to your desktop, go to a backup and click restore-advanced and move a backed up version of your profile from the PC to your handheld

Mine did it for the first time last week. Approximately 2 weeks ago i upgraded to 4.5.175. It never did it before the upgrade. I previously had 4.5.13something. I reinstalled the upgrade again and it hasnt done it since. If it does it again I will probably downgrade.
