I just got a Nextel 8350i and the wife got rid of her nextel and went with the LG Lotus. I have been a Nextel customer for the last 10 years. I was wondering what the opinions are out there between the 8330 sprint powered and the 8350i nextel powered phones. I like mine so far but would like the "sprint tv and music" and was told the nextel doesn't support the "streaming" network like the sprint does. I mainly used the 2-way for my wife but also know allot of people with 2-way however I have only used it once in the week I have owned the phone. They told me I have 30 days to decide if I like it or not. I am seriously thinking of going over to the sprint powered 8330 just for the fact that it seems as if it can do more then my 8350i. What is the general consensus here on the two I appreciate your opinions and they will all help me in making my decision.

The two phones you mentioned are pretty much the same just different for different carriers (8350i with 2-way capability). I think it comes down to your personal preference and what you feel is more important: having 2-way or sprint tv/music.

I was in your shoes about a week ago. I had Nextel for over 2 years and absolutely loved them. The call quality was FANTASTIC and my i870/i880/i580 never dropped a call.

After playing around with the 8350i and the Sprint 8330, I actually liked the Nextel version better. It seemed to feel better, it looked better, and the keyboard seemed "softer" than its Sprint counterpart (which I liked). However, iDEN data speeds are BRUTAL compared to Sprint's 3G capability. This is why the Nextel device doesn't support "streaming" like Sprint.

For me it came down to data speeds. If I was going to upgrade to a new Blackberry, I wanted 3G speeds that would allow me to utilize everything it had to offer. That is why I ended up going with the Sprint 8330.

Also, because I couldn't bring myself to totally ditch Nextel, I still have one of my old handsets activated on a Boost prepaid "Pay As You Go" SIM. All you have to do to keep the account active is add $10 every 3 months. It's the best of both worlds, Sprint 3G 8330 and a Nextel i580 .

Good luck in your decision, but if it was me I'd switch to Sprint.
