Default T-mobile "getmoreblackberry" scam?

Please Login to Remove!

So, I entered my information on their www.getmoreblackberry.com website, and they say:

Register now and you will be one of the first to know when the new BlackBerry 7100t is available for sale.

Will they care to explain then why it's on the T-mobile website? And why I wasn't notified? Or why their stupid "get more" website STILL says "coming soon"?

Are they completely stupid at T-mobile?

From what I heard they pulled the same stunt with people that signed up for the Sidekick II promo, they were promised to have it before it's general release...

Neither the Sidekick II nor the 7100t were promised to ANYONE before general release. As a matter of fact, I had to sit and look at 30 of those things sitting in our stockroom all yesterday and no chance to buy it because it didn't launch until today. As for the website, go to the "Handhelds" section and you'll see that the 7100t is listed as an option. As far as our e-mailing goes, give a minute, our US corporate headquarters is located in Bellevue, Washington. It's not even the start of regular business hours for them yet. Jeez, if you want to know, it's available, I promise you. I don't know that this warrants a "scam" because halfway through the day you don't have your e-mail and because our site hasn't been fully updated... give us a minute ;)

Actually, the SKII WAS promised to people before it would be in general release.

But, when T-mobile invites me to be the first to know when a product is available, and it's already on their website, and in stores then it's not much of a promo is it....

I was never notified either - and I just picked up three 7100T's at my local TMO store. Go figure.

By the way - this thing ROCKS!

Even better.

"Add corporate e-mail access via the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to either plan for $10.00 per month."

Huh?

As if I'd give T-Mobile another 10 bucks a month out of the goodness of my heart to attach to a BES that my employer has?

Are they smoking crack? What idiot would volunteer to give them more money? I thought they MUST have meant that they've stood up their OWN BES to compete with the little shops selling MDS/BES services to solo BBerry users.

No, they're just insane.

Welp, I just got the 7100T announcement email today! So at least it came out the same day the device was available. But they were a little late...

I got the announcement today as well. I have a 7280 through AT&T, but I'm considering the 7100T for my business.

Well, it has been a hassle. I took my email into a T-mo corporate store after calling around and only finding one that had them in stock (I drove 50 miles to go get one) and the sales guy says he can't sell it to me as an upgrade, only if I add a new account line. He said I would have to order from CC for an upgrade, yet the email plainly said I could buy the upgrade from a T-Mo store.

Text of email:

Default I know I am a late joiner here....

I had the same problem, I was told that I had to order the upgrade online, but I had my 7230 with me that had the e-mail on it from T-Mobile which says I can buy it at a store. I showed them the e-mail and what surprised me is that the store manager was never told that the 7100t could be sold to customers as an upgrade.

If I didn't have my Blackberry with me that had the T-Mobile upgrade invitation on it, I would have been out of luck...

TMO retail store employees do not sell them as upgrades because the commision they receive on new activations is greater than that of upgrades. Some store managers even tell their employees not to because they want to increase the profitability of the stores. Upgrades are not a part of the quota. They are greedy. I work for an indirect, our prices on upgrades are lower that the TMO retail stores, and I will sell any phone to the first customer that walks in the door. Even though I get paid 5 times(literally) as much on new activations, and upgrades are not part of our company quota either. We are in the business of customer service, unlike corp retail stores.

brush up on your legal studies before making such statements...

what he said would not be viewed as slander for two reasons. first, it was a truthful statement based on his personal (and professional) knowledge and experience. second, and possibly most important, slander is an oral statement thats knowingly false.

libel would be applied to statements typed out on an internet message board.
