I have 8700g and have not been able to figure out how to listen to WAV files. Any help would be appreciated.

you can download them from the web, or you can send them via MMS to your phone (10digitnum@carrier.net address). with the release of OS 4.2, you will be able to send them through email as attachments if you are on a BES server. a future upgrade for BIS will also support WAV file attachments (as well as AMR and MP3).

Any hope there is a simple (free or cheap) solution to playing WAV attachments on an 8700?

I just upgraded my 8700 to 4.2 OS, only to find out that it can send "voice WAV memos" out via MMS but incoming WAV attachments don't work.

What's the least expensive solution?

Caprib, I don't know cheap or free, but MasterDoc will do the job for you. It can play WAV and MP3 files and attachments and save them on BB memory or Sd for further playing

Upgrade your BB 8700 to Rls 4.2. I upgraded mine to Rls 4.2 and I can listen to wave files from my unified messaging on my 8700.

The magic bullet for wav listening pleasure is 4.2 handheld software AND BES 4.1.
