Here's a weird one: Up unitl about two weeks ago, when I would get an email and pull my Bberry out of the holster, the email would automatically open. Lately, that hasn't been happening and I can't figure out why. It started on my 8700c that was dust filled and is continuing on the 8700 replacement. Is this happening to anyone else? Is there a new setting that I'm missing that changes this?

Is this within the (I think) 15 seconds that it will auto open?
basic question but worth asking for helping you get your answer.

Do you have one of the originally released cases? I had the same issue until I replaced the original RTM version of the 8700c case.

The issue is that the magnet in the case and the "Sweet Spot" on the berry do not align correctly on these original cases.

You can determine this by checking to see if the berry backlight goes off as soon as you insert it into the holster. You may have to do this several times to make an accurate determination, however if it doesn't ALWAYS go off, have the holster replaced.

Also, on the newer holsters, there is a "protective" black "sticker" on the top of the holster. There are some screen shots around here somewhere, I just couldn't locate them when making this post.

I do have one of the replacement holsters with the black, protective sticker across the top. I tried what you said and from what I can tell, the BB backlight shuts off immediatly when put into the holster. I do have an extra holster around here somewhere and I'm going to give that a shot to see if it fixes the issue. I wonder if this could be why I'm getting pretty poor battery life (I thought it was the Zen theme). I'll let you know what happens.

It was the holster. I switched out holsters to one that I had in the house and it's back working the way it should. Thanks for the help!
