Excuse me...but what are the main differences between this 5.0 os for Bold and the regular 4.6 os available officially??

Is there a list of features that are new on this 5.0 os?

When do you think will it be released officially??

Thank you.

I'm facing the same issues. Music goes through fine on bluetooth, but no audio for phone calls (in / out)

Any fixes for this?
I hate to go back now.

hmmm...
after doing a low level wipe using BBSAK and doing a clean install bluetooth audio during phone calls is working fine.

There are still some quirks with this beta, but overall I'm liking it.

I had gone back to 4.6.1.250 because of the BT call problem. However, I tried BBSAK yesterday to wipe and then load OS 5.0.0.238. That fixed the problem with BT. Real pain was having to reload apps and input pins/passwords... However, 5.0.0.238 rocks!

But can you tell me something official? Will it be released some day??

Do you think I should wipe everything off before installing this 5.0 version you say?

I do not know any more than you do about when 5.0.0.x will be officially released. It will be released but who knows when that may be. That's why I just loaded 5.0.0.238 beta on my 8900.

The wipe, OS reload, and service book reload took care of the issues that were critical showstoppers for me - mainly the Bluetooth problems and the loss of the internet and blackberry browsers. A simple upgrade from 4.5.1.250 left me without those functioning correctly. The wipe made the difference. It just took too long to reinstall some applications and get the passwords back into them...

Upgraded 2 days ago from 297 Hybrid. No problems during process except phone hung during restore process. I unplugged USB and pulled battery then hooked up again and process finished. Blazing fast browser. Decent battery life. Available memory is slightly lower than Hybrid I was using. Two problems noticed: 1. Had to do browser fix because I am on AT&T. Used Google to search for this and it is easily taken care of and fixed. 2. Voice Activated Dialing did not work. This did work on 5.0.190. Workaround for this is to download both 238 and 190 to your computer and copy all VAD files from Java folder on 190 to 238. Then delete 190 and run apploader again. I love the new threaded SMS. With these workarounds (AT&T) this is the best OS I haved used. Looking forward to official 5.0 release soon.

F does not work as a short cut for selecting profiles. That means I have to use one of the two side keys for this. Not to happy aboit it.

Has anyone discovered a keyboard shortcut for profiles?

Holding down the "Q" key will toggle between 2 user selected profiles. Only alternative i have found, besides scrolling up on the precision theme to select profiles.

I have Bold 9000. I'm guessing I get some good info from this forum.

Great find. Holding "Q" is a lot better than having the select the list of profiles. Normal and Vibrate are the two most commonly used ones anyway..

Default Install file for 9000 is gone. Is it anywhere else?

Hey, I went to the links and they are all gone. Does anybody have a new, working link for the Bold (9000) installer?

Thanks.

Well, I tried it again, many times, and it finally worked. Although it is downloading very slowly. Downloading it now.........

Seems a good bit quicker. Got App world and BBM 5.0 working fine.
