Default BB "pending pin update confirmation"

Please Login to Remove!

Please help!!!!!!!! when ever i either take the battery off (to change my memory card) or have to restart the device and i go into my bb messenger it says something like "you have switched to a new device" and then it asks me to either delete all of my bb contacts or to send them and update confirmation.

How can i stop this? other than stop using the application of course. I also thought throwing my 8310 BB against the wall might solve the problem, i'm about to.

I had a fairly strange problem and solved it by replacing the media card. I don't remember if bb messenger can be reinstalled as a stand alone. Have you tried resending the service books since the program is PIN?

Well i did try resending the service books and did nothing for me. I also upgraded to os4.5 thinking it would solve the problem but still.

i am having the same issue, been having it from about a year now and with 3 different devices...

my first question to you... are you, or have been at anytime on an IT policy?

I've also been having the same issue, for about a month now. Though I haven't been on an IT policy. It really hasn't been too much of a problem - I'd just accept to sending my contacts an update confirmation. Not sure it actually does it, since I'll start a conversation with someone and the "Pending PIN Update Confirmation" would go away.

I just got this as well in OS 4.5 - I did a soft reset. To be honest though, I did not use BBM before the update.

I am on an IT policy but this app is commonly used. In fact, our IT manager pointed the app out to me as an alternate to costly SMS.

Any thoughts on the issue? I have a 4gb media card, but I have had not other problems previously associated with old files on the cards...

You might want to try uninstalled/reinstalled the BBM itself threw the app loader, make sure you backup it up or jot down your BBM contacts/pins.

Same issue on my device, any time I reset via ALT-Shift-DEL or a battery pull.

I'm sick and tired of having a "Pending PIN Update" group, as well as my "Contacts" group.

I'm equally as tired, explaining to people why I send so many requests to be added.

Stupid smartphone.

I have the same problem with this "PIN update confirmation." on my 8830 with 4.5.0.101. I would love to know how to stop this from happening. I do not have an IT policy on my blackberry. I heard that disabling content protection would help, but that does not.

I had the same problem on my Verizon 8830 with 4.5.0.101. I turned of content protection and content compression, "saved" the changes and now it works on a reboot without the PIN update request.

I wonder why they didn't remove this bug in the latest version....
