Default Skype on the brink of release?

Please Login to Remove!

I've been waiting for a while now for either Skype, or a beta to be released.

I've just looked at the Skype site and seen that there's a link on the right hand page that should take you to a BlackBerry page. Click it, and it just redirects you back to the page you were looking at...

Skype 4.1 for Windows - Download the latest version of Skype and get free computer calls

Not sure how long it's been up, but check it out.

Anyone think this means that Skype of the BB is right around the corner?

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

They have been talking about it for quite some time. There is a beta for the iphone as well as the G1, so I'm guessing we're next.

Calls will still be over the mobile network from what I understand, so it will be used mostly for long distance calls.

The sad news is that the link on the right has now been pulled. It's not there anymore

What's the big deal?

The guys who wrote Skype originally wrote KaZaA. They didn't use someone else's code. They are just "sharing". Right? </sarcasm>

is there anyway to use any type of voip on a blackberry? I am forced to use a corp blackberry on t-mobile for work....they won't allow email on my current blackberry with verizon...even if i had a blackberry on t-mobile they would still require me to carry 2 blackberries...one for voice and one for email. i don't wan't to activate voice on my corp BB because i can't port my number to the new one and i DO NOT want t-mobile as my voice carrier...crap reception.

any ideas? i was hoping google voice would have an answer but it still uses the voice network to make calls.

I'll be gutted.

I use it all the time with my business. Was looking forward to getting on the berry.
