Um, perhaps, I'm not too bright, but I couldn't see how to even listen to the ringtones. They e-mailed me one, but how am I supposed to take it from the e-mail to add to the phone?

I may have to stick with the simple site that was previously given.

Kendall, browse to the website on the blackberry itself. click the links to get to the artist that you want. once you are there you should see the files listed at the top. with a .mid extension. highlight that file and click the track wheel. choose get link and click the wheel again. give it a couple of seconds and it will start playing using the browser media player. scroll over to the icon on the far right. click the track wheel and choose save. it should give you a prompt on where to save it to. just leave it defalut and click ok. now check your ringtone list....

Navigate to this URL on your BB7100

http://www.smartphonedepot.com/media/

I have several categories listed - only TV is working this moment but I'm adding more tonight so bookmark the URL in your 7100.

I love the default ringtones on the 7100 because most are like cool sound effects... I hate full songs or "themes" being played as an alert for email, PIN, what have you...

All the sites that post ringtones rarely have cool sound effects like the BBUFO or Nymph, anyone know where to find more such as these?

If you want to be really helpful, you can whack some of those down from 4 minutes in length to the 40 seconds or so that people will ever hear.

Just go to the profile menu
click the wheel and you have an option of show tunes
from there if you click the wheel you can have the option of play or delete.

There you go.

I'm helpful but not that helpful... I have no time to edit MIDI files but now that you mention it maybe you could do it? That would be very helpful.

Shall I quit my job#$%

If you have Quicktime Player its wicked easy.

You just open the MIDI, cut what you want, done.

Even those slobs using Windows can get Quicktime Player.

any phil collins fans ;) (seriously, yeah, I know, but I love him) can get some shortened rings at my site:
http://yourblackstar.com/midi/
I have:
Easy Lover, Land of Confusion, Invisible Touch, in the air tonight, Something Happened On the Way To Heaven, as well as
"All the things she said" by T.a.t.u and the Evangelion theme song...ok, so I'm a geek, what of it....if you have any requests if I'm into it, I can shorten midi files into rings...also- any news on an app that can assign rings to individual callers?

There you go... it's so easy even an end user could do it him or herself. An d by leaving the MIDI files full length, the way I received them each individual can express there own preference.

remaking a song into midi is an art, in a sense (in some cases, its very hard work, depending on the hardware/software you're using). i've visited some websites where they actually charge for absolute crap, whether it be the wrong tempo or the wrong midi instruments used for the notes. also, adding in an instrument to represent the vocal parts can sometimes compliment the musical midi notes, but other times (and its EXTREMELY obvious), it should be left out (the most recent example i found was coldplay's "clocks" - one version is crap and one version is quite beautiful minus the vocal rendition).

anyhow..
