I downloaded the latest OS I did everything in the instructions but I get this...

The system applications that are currently installed on your device are newer than those available with this version of the blackberry device software.

Click options if you want to install the older applications
please help!

I went ahead and hit options and did the downgrade or whatever.


It is now saying an error has occurred while downloading software for your device. Please verify your internet connection or try again later, if the problem persists. I hit retry but it keeps popping back up. Its stopped at downloaded modules 259 out of 338.

What it is doing is installing the latest OS from the internet and not the one you've downloaded (and hopefully installed).

When you go to update it, ignore the popup you may get telling you to update. Cancel it.

Go to application loader.
update software.
When it comes back, it will come back with 2 versions of the latest os.
press the + next to it and find the one that says Local Installation underneath it.

click it, to higlight and click next.

it will still tell you its a downgrade, as i explained before.
continue.
it will then install correctly because its not trying to download the modules before updating.

Ok I did all that and then it says No software update is required for your device
