Default Syncing to Outlook

Please Login to Remove!

I have about 50 contacts in my BB that were transferred from my old cell phone or entered manually. I am considering syncing my BB to my Outlook contacts. (I already sync to my Outlook calendar and that works perfectly.) However I have over 2,500 Outlook contacts.
[
  1. Are there issues I should be concerned about with this many contacts?
  1. If I do sync, will the sync process overwrite the contacts I have manually entered in my BB, or will there be duplicate entries on my BB?
  1. If after syncing my contact, can I delete all the contacts on my BB and revert back to the manual entry process if I am unhappy having so many contacts on my BB?

Wirelessly posted (Tmo's cheapest BB customer)

Are the 50 entries on your BB duplicates of the contacts already in your Outlook? Either way, chances are you will have duplicate contacts. Just consolidate them with the ones you already have from Outlook.

Not entirely understanding your second question, but in short yes it is easy to wipe the contact list on your BB.

Yes, the 50 entries on the BB are duplicated in Outlook. I sounds like I should back up my BB, then wipe the contacts on my BB, then sync with Outlook.

How do I delete all contacts on my BB?

You want to make sure that the contacts on your BB and on your Outlook have exactly the same info. Wouldn't want to get rid of a contact with info you didn't have on the other source (be it BB or Outlook).

To delete all the contacts on your BB, plug your phone into your computer and open up desktop manager. Go to backup/restore>advanced>scroll to address book (make sure you are in the right hand column that says device database)>highlight>select clear at the bottom of the column.

This will clear your device's address book.

This worked like a charm. Thanks for the help. I am a very happy camper.

Glad to hear it worked out. Sorry I can't answer the question about your BMW.
