Default Just received my "Launch Party" 8700>>

I just received a FedEx box containing my Launch Party 8700! I was suprised to receive it, and was really starting to assume that it would be delayed for a while. I never received a call or email, it just showed up.

My review after using it for an hour? Well, It's got a nice, solid feel to it. The buttons are very close together as others have mentioned. Moving from the 7100 to the 8700 is nice considering I found it a real hassle to constantly correct the Suretype on the 7100. Phone quality seems nice so far. The browser doesn't seem much faster, even when I am in an EDGE area. However, this is the first time I have ever been able to log into my Gmail account on a BB.

Was the package sent express or ground?

I am curious to see if RIM is sending all of the devices out from both launch party sides (USA/Canada) at the same time. I was told the devices would ship end of the month at the latest, which was yesterday.

Well I just called my Cingular rep and he said that they did receive a large number of boxes today and he assumes that they are the launch devices but they are in his boss's office and he is not in today.

. . . some of the folks in my group who attended NYC got packages individually via FedEx International Priority from Ontario, Canada (ProForma) . . . there's a few more that have been contacted by Cingular reps who said that devices will be personally delivered . . . probably to sell the plans while there at the office... who knows.

I told my Cingular rep to just ship mine out, no need to see him at all.

not to REALLY rub it in, but I tried to register for the NYC event (through the online system) but was ultimately REJECTED!! I didn't attend b/c they didn't approve me. Yet I got one today. OOPS! Someone goofed :D
