Default Free File = Free Memory?

Looking into the "Why does my Blackberry delete stuff?" problem

Why is my BlackBerry losing its call logs or message logs? - BlackBerryFAQ

I don't have a Free Memory value under Status, but there is a Free File reading. Is this the same thing?

I believe it is. On my 8700g mine says "File Free" and that is the amount of free memory available.
