OK. I posted a thread a week or so ago about a possible problem with the internal BlackBerry clock:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=30964 After some further investigation I believe I may have uncovered a bug with the Sametime Chat Application for Sametime on BES 4.1. I haven't called this in to RIM yet but I'm going to post the steps to reproduce the problem and the workaround to see if anyone else can duplicate it.
- BES System Specs - Domino 6.5.4fp1, BES 4.1.0.40 wMDS
- Sametime System Specs - Domino 6.5.4fp1, Sametime 6.5
- Steps to Recreate the Problem:
- Log on to Enterprise Messenger on your BlackBerry.
- From Enterprise Messenger Options make sure that 'Show Conversations in Message List' = Yes
- Have someone send you a test chat message.
- It doesn't seem to matter if you read this message or not but make sure it is the top item in your BlackBerry Mailbox. In other words make sure you do the next step before any new e-mails or other messages other than chat come to your BlackBerry.
- Login to Sametime from your pc using any of the Sametime clients. This will cause the Enterprise Messenger client to log you off of chat on your BlackBerry.
- Go to your BlackBerry Mailbox and you should now see that you have no messages. The messages are there the view is just screwed up.
- Steps to WorkAround the Problem:
- To correct the view go to Options | Date/Time | Date/Time Source
- Toggle the setting to either 'Network' or 'BlackBerry' and save the change. You can change it back to what you had it set to if you want so long as you saved the change.
- Go back to your BlackBerry Mailbox and you should now see all the messages again.
Note: That I have been able to consistantly recreate this problem on an 8700 device. I'm going to test it on a 7290 as well.
If you test this please post your results.
