I already got the one from cnn.cn for $21.99 with S&H and it comes with faceplate , lens, backplate and battery cover. I guess it is all I need but screw driver which I don't have (as a photographer I have nice gloves for touching the screen )

they didn't have anything for an 8700c, but i did just order a T6 screwdriver, tweezers, a "cell phone opener" and one of their "sharp tools"... with shipping came out to $32, not too bad... still waiting on a response from the eBay dude with what exactly comes with the phone...
thanks for the link woyteg!

You can trust CNN.Cn. Like I said they have never failed me (and I used them over 20 times already in the past 2 years).

Would it be possible to transplant the guts of an 8703e into the 8707v housing? It looks almost identical to the 8700g externally...

i messed my 8700c internal microphone up something awful about an hour ago... i don't know how but, i got it to work... the two spring connectors that stick out got jacked up when my set of tweezers slipped when trying to get the mic out of the old housing... put it into the new housing, and it didn't work... swapped housings back (had to, the screws from the old housing wouldn't catch in the new one) and now the mic works fine... oh well, i think i'll just TRY and find an no shit replacement housing for my scratched one...

Replacing case
This is much tougher than it looks. Be very careful. Lots of things can go wrong. Meanwhile, I made it through but two of the screws on the back panel would not go in. I suspect it is because I used my old back panel instead of the new back panel that came with the new front panel.
But so far it is working and holding together with one screw.

Help!
Does anyone know if I can change the faceplate from the Cingular 8700c to the Verizon 8703e. I really like the simple black color. Any advice is appreciated!

the eBay seller is not gsm-source, his eBay name: www-gsm4world-us
but I'm not sure if he still sells 8700g silver housing. There are lots of other sellers selling them on eBay now. Just make sure when you buy one it has the front shell screen attached and the rear speaker phone on the rear shell.
I live & work in New York City and if you want advice on swapping shells or want me to do it, feel free to PM me.
Thanks,
Delmarco

As of this week ending October 20th he is out of stock of the 8700v and
8700g shells. I emailed him yesterday and he will have more 8700 series shells listed next week.
You can also send him a message on ebay and request what you need and he usually responds quick and seems to be very knowledgeable of Blackberry OEM parts.
here is his eBay name: www-gsm4world-us

general housing questions
hi people first off want to say thanks for all the info posted very helpful.
i am new to this forum but have been a long time BB user my addiction to bb
first started with the 6710 years back four bbs later im using an 8700c on a rogers network i have a couple general housing questions...
1. when changing to a 8700r or 8707v do you need a mid case or is the rear and front enough with of course speaker and screen included? i dont understand the concept behind replacing the mid case.
2. promobility is selling an 8700r package with rear / front / door (they dont include the mid case nor do they include the speakphone or any other parts) this means that i will be losing my speakphone and would have to transfeer my 8700c fast keys if i purchase this and do the install?
2. can anyone send me a link where i can purchase an 8700r or 8707v complete housing unit with t6 tool i cant find the complete set anywhere and promobility is out of stock for the rear unit for the 8700r
thanks
