Hi all,

My first post...

Can anyone tell me whether the Attachment Server, when installed on a remote server (i.e. not on the BES itself) requires a connection to the besmgmt database?

Running BES 4.1.7 btw.

For 4.1, no need. But for 5.0, not sure, may need. Test out?

That's what I thought, but the guy who installed it swears it asks for the database details during the install...

I believe it ask for the db information during installation so it can register itself as a service to the BlackBerry environment. After the product is installed I don't believe it requires db connectivity.
