Default Sudden Blackberry Death Syndrome! (SBDS)

Please Login to Remove!

So I went to bed last night with my blackberry 3/4's charged and woke up to a dead blackberry (8703e). there should have been no reason for an excessive battery drain (IE not being in EVDO because I was), no aim was on or nothing the thing was asleep. Frustrated to say the least the thing was my freaking alarm. Anyone have some tests or something I should try or should I just call verizon and get a replacement?

First thing I did was pull the battery and I don't have a sim it's CDMA. The phones on again but I'm just puzzled why the battery went from 3/4's to nothing in 7 hours!

The same exact thing happened to my 8703e over the weekend. I went from an 80% charge to a dead berry overnight.

I charged it, pulled the battery out & put it back in, and now I'm back on normal great battery life (especially when compared to my 7250) again.

I don't run any odd programs & haven't done anything new or different to my berry than I normally do, so the drain is a mystery.

If anyone had any insight as to why this happened I would greatly appreciate it!

That's why my bb is plugged in every night when I go to bed. I wake up to a fully charged batt. every morning. It's nice, you should try it.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

That is weird. I have 8700g now and 7100t before that, and my habit is to charge my BB for a short while in the morning and again for a short while in the evening. Almost always on battery all night and almost all day. Never has anything like that happened to me.

I appreciate the sarcasm, but the problem was that even with a fully charged battery to start the day, I was getting drained by early afternoon with normal use that would not drain the battery so quickly. The battery draining overnight was the final clue that something was off & removing the battery seemed to fix the problem.

Obviously something was wrong to cause the battery to drain like that, but I really do appreciate your pointless post. Thanx
