Wizardiego-

I found a Blackberry one time, and this worked for me:

1- Fully charge the Berry (or, at least over half-way)
2- Power it on....let it cycle through its boot-up session
3- Turn power off
3- Place device face-down in a pan with 1/4" of water
4- After 30-45 seconds (NOT 1 MINUTE+) Pull it out
5- Immediately Power it on again

If it doesn't work the first time, repeat steps 3-5

-simpson

/hope this helps!

That worked for me when I found a BB. It works like it was always mine.

The outpouring of good will and support when Dawg had the unfortunate mishap made me think that people are inherently good. Sadly, the OP reminds me that -this- community is inherently good, not the populous at large.

This should be a lesson to anyone else who "finds" a phone, turn it in, good things happen to good people. My blackberry is like my second brain and I honestly cant function without it and I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one here that thinks the same way.

Wow! I'm darn near speechless. RIM needs a melt down command for nice guys like this.

It's obviously stolen. Good thing that BlackBerrys can be bricked for situations like this. I hope the owner uses its GPS to find it and confronts the theif and proceeds to give him/her a beating behind the woodshed. That would be priceless.

I started locking my phones after my AT&T Tilt was stolen. Guy asked to use it, and just took off running. So now I trust damn near no one and use a password.

The thing is.. NOBODY called to ask for the phone.

I kept it for 4 days and NO ONE CALLED.

So...
LOL! What do you mean no one called. Did you put an ad in the paper in Lost and Found?

The story would be different if it was you phone and you were here asking if the carrier could turn on the GPS and find it for you! LOL

It's mine

I'm gonna call a couple of my pipe smoking buddies who are going to accompany my to your house with a pair of pliers and a blowtorch to show you a good time

Threads that start off as "I found a BB" should be deleted on sight and the persons who start the thread banned immediately.

Where there's a will there's a way. All a$$hole had to do was call the provider with IMEI and report that he had a "lost" phone.
