Default How does Media Sync find/select Cover Art?

Please Login to Remove!

I used Media Sync to extract my iTunes library to the Curve, and I noticed that in some cases I get album art, and other cases I don't. It almost seems random. And I have plenty of space on the Media Card.

Anyone know where it is looking for the art in iTunes so I can make adjustments (if needed)?

Thanks!

it's usually encoded into the mp3's id tag. i use media monkey to add the cover art. there's a free version that works very well for this and other tag editing.

also some cd ripping programs can add the cover art at the time of ripping

Thanks for the tip. But what I don't understand is that I already added all the cover art so that it shows up properly in iTunes. But only some of it comes over to the Blackberry. Shouldn't it all come over?

It's not an iPod. IPods will read a pic in a file and apply it. Blackberry uses the industry standards of ID3v1 ID3v2 & APEv2 TAG information as it is embedded into the MP3 file. Adding cover art with iTunes does not necessarily put the cover art into the ID# tag data fields. I suggest Mp3tag - the universal Tag Editor (ID3v1, ID3v2, APEv2) as a freeware tool to manage the editing of your mp3 ID tag info.

I actually found a program that takes the downloaded cover art in iTunes and embeds it in the file automatically. That fixed everything. Thanks, everyone!
