I bought a bold 9000 off some person, it was a rogers phone, but unlocked, i am using it with fido, but my data doesn't seem to work on it, wen i go to opitions - advance optiions- browser- i only get a choice of hotspot browser and there is nothing else there , anyone help?

yes i do have the data plan i got it yesterday, i have called fido and they aren't much of a help

Is it a true BB data plan, not a generic one? If it was a BB data plan then the service books would have been sent and the BB browser would appeared. Ask Fido to resend the service books.

Is there an IT Policy on the device by any chance?

I dont know what you mean by true BB data plan, but i have a 500MB data plan per month, i had to get it added onto my orignal plan, and what do you mean IT Policy?

Do you have a Blackberry dataplan? It sounds like you have generic one which will not work.

If the device was on a corporate BES, there could be an IT Policy controlling what you can and cannot do with the device.

3rd party aps dont work, ive tried using opra mini, it dosent work unless the wifi is on.IMs also do not work.But i dont know if it is a generic plan but i do pay a very low amount of money for it about $6. IT policy I do not know about, i have tried to remove it but there is not policy.bin download also i dont think it has a IT policy

You have a generic data plan. Get a BB data plan and your problems should be solved. That is the bottom line and the solution.
