No they aren't. They just put themselves up for sale (in case you hadn't heard or read it yet) because 1) they have no buyers or deals in place and 2) they can't survive in their current form.

So being #3 (maybe) is good enough? After the new OS and BBs have been released?

Now, BBRY is in a far worse condition - they had to put the For Sale sign up.

Microsoft can continue to subsidize Windows Phone (and RT) and still be very healthy, profitable and with a solid stock price.

BlackBerry can't survive in its current state.

Nope, WP gained 3rd place last week. BlackBerry is now 4th.
