Default Help! My young son reset the handheld password

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I have a 8830, my son put in a new password in the phone. Now it reads hand held is locked. I'm at the last try9/10. I'm getting desperate, If I go to 10/10 the phone will be useless right? HELP

did u have a backup on ur pc? if so go ahead and try for the 10/10 if u get it wrong it wil ask u to type blackberry and it will erase all the data from the device and ask u to put a new password. then just restore from your backup with desktop manager

The backup will work assuming the OP did a backup.

Ditto to the above. The blackberry will not be useless, you may just be starting over from scratch, depending on whether you have a backup or the PIM data is sync'd somewhere.

When you do get up and running, put your own password on it, with a suitable timeout. And lock it when you leave it lying about.

Mom calls son > gets new password > problem solved.

Unless there is more to this story... and there usually is.

I don't know. Because there is little that the OP is stating, and he did say "Help" right off the top, my guess is that he is in a desperate situation. I'm not saying he is not being deceitful, but my guess would be he is not.
I've been wrong before though, according my my mother-in-law (time and time again).

Thanks to all, I'm new with BB and YES my son Andrew (11) reset the handhelp password, I'm thinking that He did not use the Alt key and we lost the password. I bought the phone in an Ebay auction. My son and I tinker with fixin' BB's and other phones like Sony Ericsson, now BB's
We took apart 2- 9550's and made a good one. They're childs play to take apart and switch lcd's for instance. My fear with the 8830 was that it would become bricked or useless after the 10/10.

Use the User CP link at the top. You'll figure it out from there.
