Since the Pearl is my first BB i'm not used to using a full QWERTY so it wasn't too difficult to pick it up... really simple and really easy... love it!

I would rather have the features of the Pearl in a full QWERTY Blackberry but people say give it time. I tell you one thing, come after the first of the year when the bring out the QWERTY version without the camera, its mine!

Overall, I am liking the Pearl more and more!

I came from several full qwerty BB's, and was VERY worried about Suretype. So far its really working well for me. I think it's partly to some advice I got here on the forum - dont look at the screen while you type.

I agree with not looking and watching the keyboard. I still like the QWERTY keyboard and the wider screen of the 8700c compared to the verticle screen on the 8100c. I am not saying I am hating my Pearl, just missing what I have used for a LONG time.

Look at the keyboard and not the screen. I used to also hate Suretype - I tried the 7100t and the 7105t and disliked both, but I think the Pearl is great.

Love it on my 7100 and now the 8100. SureType is the best small form factor implementation to date.

This weekend, I took out my 8700r and gave it a nostalgic spin. After using the Pearl more >1month, I suddenly found the 8700r too big and heavy in my hands. Even though I liked the full qwerty on the 8700r, I realized I can type just as fast with the 8100 and using one hand only (mainly just the right thumb). I have now put my 8700r back in its box and back to using my 8100. I didn't like suretype when I tried the 7100 before but the Suretype in the 8100 rocks!

I've never used a QWERTY keyboard so it certainly beats typing on my RAZR. My buddy has a QWERTY BB and I can type faster than he does so I'm not complaining.

Pretty much my feelings as well.

I like QWERTY better, but, given the nicer size in the hand, I am happier with the Pearl. And the camera has been a welcome addition, since my days before Blackberry. It's always nice to capture a moment.

Sure type is great... the full qwerty keyboard is a bit rough with big ol' fat thumbs.

I also migrated to the BlackBerry recently. Not having used one before & being unsure about SureType I purchased both a 8700c & 7130c from Cingular.

After two months, my favorite is the 7130c. Mainly because of SureType, great keyboard & having the same shape as regular phones & the Pearl.

Friday my friend @ Cingular called & offered me a Pearl as they had just arrived. I drove in & bought it. After a day of heavy usage I found it a great model, but not for me. I do far too much email to be comfortable with the smaller keyboard. Now that I have first hand experience with all 3 current models I know for certain the 7130c is perfect for me. That's one thing about Blackberrys is they have great choices with a model for everyone.

Cheers

I just got the bb pearl too and was a razr user as well. I'm totally loving everything that it has to offer. I'm kinda sad that I can't get any of my razr games though :(
