Please Login to Remove!

My zip file only loads one .cod. It loads the following theme .cod to the device.

net_rim_theme_105_zen_320x240_b.cod

I can add others if necessary.

Hi!

@john: Thanks! That is exactly what I did to make the themes "installable". I just didn't want to offer it because my 8300 behaves strange. It also does it with your ALX - so I think this might be an issue of my Curve.

When I load up several themes like the US T-Mobile theme or the Verizon theme my Curve doesn't use the theme provided backgrund but the "boring" white-dot design of the German T-Mobile theme. Funny enough the at&t theme works flawlessly. I've got a T-Mobile Germany device.

I thought that they've locked the background picture. But some themes actually do work as intendet... I don't know...

Any idea? Since I can't figure out how to extract the background pictures out of the CODs - I can't "use" several themes.

Any idea? Even going to "Media" and resetting the "wallpaper" doesn't work.

I provided a picture how it looks like...

Greetings

An .alx file does nothing except load the corresponding .cod to the BB. There isn't anything esle you can put in there that would load to the BB other than a .cod file. It must have something to do with the Theme vs. OS. I don't have a Curve or an 8800 so I can't test on a device. It's possible that there are other backdrops in the 8830 OS that could go on but I haven't dug into it that far. Others have reported that it works just fine.

So there's a lot of people that like the Verizon 8830 theme for their 8300. I like the icons and the time date stamp but does anyone know if the calling screen wallpaper can be modified or changed so it will not show the Verizon check mark.

That annoying Verizon check mark V is clearly showing below.

The rest of the theme is fine. I really like it.

Is this possible?

MMmm... I have the theme builder. Yes, the check box wallpaper does show on my 8800 as well.... I can push the theme against the theme builder and I think you can edit the calling page but it has to be a static wallpaper and does not change with the regular desktop wallpaper, in other words, it has to be setup as a separate image in the theme.

There was the other post I did and commented about the VZ theme not having action icons. In the theme builder, you have to setup 2 to 3 icons (depending on phone) that compliment each other to show movement or action. The VZ theme almost uses static icons. It does use 1 action icon that compliments the regular desktop icons as when I get mail or sms messages the icon does change by adding a red asteric.

A normal gray background would be perfect. Nothing too fancy.

I suppose I am missing something simple, but I have loaded John's .alx file with the App Loader and the theme only shows up in the Applications menu and not the Theme menu. Suggestions?

The call screen is the only checkmark that I can see. I really love it otherwise and won't give it up. When on a call I can't see it unless I am on BT.

Default Alx file issue

When I try to load a alx file with my application loader, I get a mesage that says "No additional applications for your device were found" even though I click the add button and browse to John's alx file. Any thoughts?

Hi!

This verizon-theme is funny. I can't get rid of this T-Mobile background. I never managed to see the original verizon background (but I don't see the red check-mark... ;) ). I tried with 186 and 188 firmware package. The other themes show their corresponding backgrounds just fine.

I even did a forced deinstall of the t-mobile germany theme. If I activate the verizon theme the t-mobile background shows up! *argh* ;) :D

Greetings
plant

PS: Is there any way to extract the "original" background (PNG) out of the cod so I can manually set this up?
