Default BES Manager on Citrix

Please Login to Remove!

I've searched the forums and found several hits on this error but nothing specific to installing BES Manager for Domino on Citrix.

I'm running Domino 6.5.6 fp2 with BES 4.1.4 Sp6 MR2.

BES Manager installed on Citrix with 6.5 Notes client as well.

When any user opens BES Manager from Citrix and tries to do functions that require Notes API calls (ie: Find, Add Users) they get this error:

"this function is unavailable because the mailstore adaptor DLL failed to initialize"

Has anyone installed this on citrix and if so is there anything specific that you had to do to get it to work? All the users that get this error are able to access Notes from Citrix and they are able to use BES manager if they RDC into the BES server.

Thoughts?

I have already looked at the RIM KB article but none of these were the issue:
This function is unavailable because the Mailstore Adaptor DLL has failed to initialize

If you RDP directly onto the Citrix box (bypassing published apps and/or ICA) can you run the BlackBerry Manager locally? i.e. is the problem with local and published instance of app, or just published instance?

I get the same error if I launch it directly from the citrix server on an RDC connection as I do from the citrix page. I am able to launch the notes client while RDC'd into the citrix server though.

We ran into this a couple years ago setting this up. Sorry but cant remember exactly the issue, but we had to write a small script to do a reghack which ran every time someone ran this app over Citrix. If I find it I will post it. Real pain to setup!

Thanks I'd really appreciate the reghack if you can find it!

Ahh, here are some notes I found:

copy BESDB.reg to c:\windows\system32 and make sure login script (local.bat) calls this registry file. (regedit /s c:\windows\system32\BESDB.reg)

BESDB.reg:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Database]
"Login"="[your DB login]"
"Password"="[your DB password]"

EDIT: Sorry, looking back at your original post this may not be the same problem. :(

We have seen this error before and I believe it has to do with the ID file used on the Notes instance, that ID needs to be in the BlackBerryAdmins Domino group.

Thanks. Yeah that reg hack isn't our problem we login to the sql db using windows trusted and that piece is working fine. It's the calls to Notes that fail like find user or add user. I think the problem is that the over citrix each user has their own seperate notes data directory and I think that the BES Manager doesn't know where to look for those files...

I've tried modifying the registry and the path to get it to look in different places for the notes data but nothing seems to work.

If anyone else has run into this on Citrix I'd appreciate your thoughts.
