Please Login to Remove!

BB are not syncing the Address Books Wirelessly. Using Domino and Lotus Notes. Not sure if there is a setting I'm missing or what. Any and all information would be helpful

Has this always been a problem, or is it something that just started happening?
What version of Domino? What version of BES (with SP and/or MR versions)?

Using Domino 7 and BES 4.0.0.18. Not sure how long this has been an issue. Some users address books update some do not

I didn't even know BES 4.0 was compatible with Domino 7.

Anyway... have you checked their BES profile to see if the PIM sync is pointing to the proper nsf for mail files/address books?
Is Wireless Sync turned on for Address Book on the device, and enabled in their BES profile?

There's really a lot of things that could cause this. What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?

Default Roaming

One thing I found out accidentally with this issue is that you need to make each of the users a Roaming profile in Domino server

Huh! I don't have many "roaming" users and everyone can sync their address book wirelessly
Can they see their contacts with dwa?
If not they may have to synchronise from the client
Or you can create a replica of their PAB on the server and add the path in their BES profile (PIM SYNC)

Have you ever had this working before?

You need to either

1. set up your users as Roaming users
or
2. make a replica of their address book on a domino server and point their bes record to it by going to edit properties, PIM settings, Address Book: Add the Domino server name in canonical format and the path of the address book on that server.
or
3. This is what I recommend. Use the DWA (iNotes) method. Use the same method as above to edit the bes properties for the users. In the Address Book settings put the server and path to the users mailfile. Then from their notes client have them go into their mailfile and run the 'Syncronize Address Book' agent.

What worked best for me was setting them up as roaming users. Another benefit of the roamaing profiles is cluster fail over of the the PIM data.

I had intermittent problems with dwa users and I never figured out why. It would just quit updateing.

I don't let my users create replicas on the servers so that wasn't a consideration of manually editing PIM info.
