Default How do I delete when editing text?

I can press the button with the arrow on it to backspace. Is there a way to delete forwards? On a bold I would press alt+backspace.

You can just use backspace.

Edit: Sorry, I misread your question. I thought you were talking about selected text. No, I don't think you can delete forward.

If that's the case then I think that's a bit of a backward step for RIM.

I'm having great difficulty making precise selections so I can delete random chunks, and placing the cursor precisely at the end of what I want to backspace over. Unless anyone can tell me how to do either of those things, I think I'm going to find this device very frustrating.

Making precise selections is not fun. I've mostly experimented with web text entry boxes, like the one I'm typing into now. It helps if you zoom in, making the selection start and end tabs easier to manipulate. But I find that selecting a larger chunk of text causes the whole screen to jerk and shake, and selecting beyond the currently displayed text, i.e., scrolling selection, isn't possible.

At least with web forms you get those tabs that come up. I've found no way to make them come up when editing emails, which is where I do most of my editing. Does anyone know if there's a way to make them come up?
