According to the Blackberry certification website the tests below are the only ones currently available. I'm undecided if I should take these or wait for an updated version that will include features of 4.1.6 and 4.5 device software...

I've been reviewing the documentation on both the BCP-211 and BCP-212, Honestly I think I have a better shot at the BCP-212 then the BCP-211, does anyone know if I have to take the BCP-211 first or no?

Right now I am just gathering the recommended PDF's from RIM's sites. I'm probably going to have to read up heavily on the desktop manager since barely any of my users utilize that tool, I am actually in the process of rolling out the Web Desktop Manager.

I only support 3 different BlackBerry models right now, 8830/4.2.2 8330/4.5 and 8350i/4.6 on BES 4.1.6 with SameTime/Domino 8 for about 6-8 months now.

Do we know which version of HandHeld and BES version we are being tested on, so far I've only supported 4.1.6.

I don't think you have to, but am not sure.

211 gets you BlackBerry Certified Support Specialist status
211 + 212 gets you BlackBerry Certified Server Support Specialist status
Not sure that 212 alone gets you any cert at all, but you need it for BCSSS, so if that is the final aim, then you might as well take it.

Although I passed both in Beta, I actually got 10% higher on 211 than 212, which did surprise me - I view my BES skills as stronger than my HH skills.
I have every confidence you'd actually pass both right now.

SteveO86, have you read these?

Very useful, they have the question categories and weightings. They also have some practise items in there. Srsly, give both a good read through.

Just go to RIMS website and download all the troubleshooting documentation you can find. That's what I did. Our company barely uses desktop manager now but we did 2 years ago so I know enough about it but I did print out all troubleshooting guides and install guides. I have rescheduled 211 for next week.

Thanks for confidence Jadey.

I've downloaded those 2 guides, I think I'll focus on th BCP-211 first.

I'm going to skim threw the PGP and S/MIME packages first, tomorrow I'll download any Desktop Manager PDFs. From what I've read in this thread I'll probably going to spend some time over this weekend going threw that documentation.

Hopefully by next week I'll feel more confident on taking the test... Getting my employer to pay for/approve the test might be harder then anything lol.

Just wanted to give an update. I took the BCX-411 back in August. On Monday (2/9/09) I received my 50% off thank you email and today (2/11/09) I received an email from them with "Unofficial BlackBerry Certification Beta Exam Results". They indicated that due to the extremely long wait for the beta conclusion and results they opted to send an unoficial notice of the test results with the "official" detailed results including the actual score to follow in the mail within the next few weeks.

I passed.

Can't you change to a different test centre?
I have never had any problems with them myself.

My 213 exam is on Friday.
I'm bound to fail it but fingers crossed.

The report said you needed 100% to pass. 100% to pass a BETA exam?

This just reminded me that I need to schedule my next exam.

I guess it makes sense that Beta's need 100% because at that point they haven't figured out what the pass mark will be; they need these exams to actually figure out where the pass mark is going to be; some it's 60% others it might be 70%...and also what questions they will use...
Isn't that how it works?
Never done a beta exam myself but that's how I assumed it was?

I don't that's a realistic expectation for a BETA exam.
