I've been having endless number of problems since getting my first Bold in late Feb.

1st one (sep 08 production date)
-------
- erratic random restarts (4-5 times a day)
- sent back and replaced with a new one

2nd one (Nov 08 production date)
--------
- attena problem, says BIS connected but services can't be used after numerous re-provisioning, battery pulls, deleting service books and re-sending service books.

3rd one (October 08 production date)
-----
- one day the screen screen turned white and showed ERROR message, reset button shown but when pressed same message appear again

4th one (FEB 09 production date)
------
- received today, no problems whatsoever and i hope it will remain perfect!!!
- i will not be upgrading to any unauthorized firmware (currently on vodafone's latest .162 software).

I will be giving up BB it breaks on me again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish you luck. Sounds like a PIA to have to go through all that.

Just curious....could all of the problems that Bolds 1-3 had been rectified had the OS been upgraded to something that was actually released this calendar year?

EDIT: I notice in your profile you were on build .247 You were having these issues after upgrading to that build?

I was thinking the exact same thing when I read it. And to deny yourself the joys of upgrading to beta OSs? Blasphemy! To be honest though, out of the MANY times I've upgraded my OS on my pearl and then my Bold, I've only had to downgrade once. And that was .244.... It wasn't my friend at all. But .247 is working good and strong for me for a while now.

Trust me, I've done upgrading and downgrading on all previous three defective Bold I had. I've been through a lot!

The fourth one is holding up well, and I am no longer upgrading the OS to anything unofficial. Currently running Vodafone UK authorised .162 on my Bold and have experienced no issues so far.
