Who is your carrier? If its Tmo, you may need to add wap.voicestream.com to your apn. You should be able to do that under tcp in your options menu. Then do a battery pull. It worked for me. Hope this helps.

Try this jogon. [email address]
Type it just like it is here in caps. I believe if this does not work, you will need to add your user name and password as well. Still try the battery pull after you add this. Let me know if this helps. And please no more Sir. Lol! My name is John.

Sorry for the delay Jogon. I'm having signal problems here. And yes add it to your APN setting. You should be able to find that under TCP. That is in advanced options in my 8700g. You will need to call Cingular and get your user name and password if you don't know those.

I downloaded version 2.0 of Opera without first removing the previous version. I thought it would just overwrite the previous version. I got a message saying it would/did do that but I ended up with 2 Operas. I deleted one and still have one that works but it's no longer listed in Applications. Any way to fix this?

I would love to use it, but any one can tell me if it would work with the blckberry APN instead of the Cingular APN. I relay do not want to go through care to take the charges out if I end up incuring the pay per use charges.

If you go to Options -> Advanced -> Application, and the click wheel to modules, you can delete the old Opera version from there. You will have scroll down a fair bit.

Worked for me.

Default here is how to make opera work on 8700c

I finally got it working. Options --> Advanced Options --> TCP --> APN

put the word "proxy" in the APN field. I left username and pwd blank.

FINALLY worked like a charm

Hope this helps everyone...

I finally realized I should check the net settings on my sonyericsson cingular phone... and that did the trick.

Default Uninstall when not shown

As with many others I downloaded the first release OTA and now can't remove it. It doesn't show up anywhere but the desktop. All other versions have been removed along with anything that remotely looks like it could be it yet it still is on the desktop and still runs. How does one get rid of this. I'm starting to think it's some sort of virus or spyware, why else would it be so difficult, and secretive about removal. It also scares me that this proves a blackberry can be root kitted although I don't think that was their intent.

I got Sprint's 7130e but since Mini Opera 1.2 I keep the no connection error. I've tried messing around with Opera's permissions and also changing the browser push choices. No where in my settings is there anything about APN or TCP. So could anyone tech support my set up because none of the proposed fixes are an option for my BB.

On another note, I hear many complaints about Mini doesn't have the same shortcuts. To me that seems fine. I expect any 3rd party browser would use the set up they deem most practical. Had these shorcuts been native to BB rather than merely the BB Browser, they would be automatically implemented in Mini Opera. I don't see any reason to expect a multiplatform browser to change their setup to mimick those from one platform's browser.

Thanks for working with us BB folk. But please help me get online with Mini Opera so I can get on Myspace while my desktop is down. Peace.

You may need to add wap.voicestream.com in your APN. You can find that in advanced options. Then do a battery pull. It worked for me. I also have the 8700 with tmo. Good luck.
