ok heres the deal with the billing in case anyone else has had this problem
for some users there has been a billing glitch, so solve it all you have to do is call 611 from your phone, talk with the rep, who should be nice, if not, get employees name and employee number and tell me.
anyways when you talk to the rep, just say that you have the BBconnect option and you seem to be bill for all the usage. then say that you know someone that works at fido whos a friend and they said to talk with wireless technical support about the issue, at that time the rep should put you on hold and talk to the tech support about it and they should be able to resolve it.
any questions please email me at the email in my sig... also if you have a jack ass rep, again please get the name and employee number then forward it to me please
thanks

Those of you with unlocked 8100's - how much did you pay to get it unlocked? and from where?
i've been told anywhere from $100 - $200 to unlock this phone. ive seen websites that claim to do it for around $40. you email them your pin and imei and they email you back an unlock code w/instructions.
what did you all do?

Please help
I am using a BB 8800 with Fido network. I added the BB connect plan last week and it was working well for 3 or 4 days then nothing, no more emails, no more data transfer. I was told to manually enter an APN, IP address, etc. NO IDEA WHERE TO ENTER THESE. I called Fido twice and they say they can't help further. I need someone who knows how this is done in order for everything to work again, like it did in the beginning, please.
Shai.

have you tried resending the service books? if not go to BlackBerry Internet Service and sign up and resend them all, if that doesnt work, call fido from a landline phone at 1888-481-3436, then ask them to remove and re-add the BB connect... if it doesnt work after that then it sounds like a tech issue and they may have to do some troubleshooting with the tech team... but if one of the above doesnt work then let me know...

How about for MMS? Do you have to send a servicebook? For FIDO that is on a BB 8300.

Ya I pay $29 a month for unlimited data on Cingular. I love my Blackberry ... and while Canada is a beautiful country, I would never move there just because I wont be as mobile without having to pay out the gazoo.
And .... why is it that Canada, the home of the Blackberry, has far worst BB plans in Canada than they do in the US, where our plans are superior? I would think that the home of the BB would have better plans.

because the BB is a business tool and there are far more companys out there that may require them, i mean we do have large business here, but dont forget they dont care about the cost, cuz the company pays for it and with coporate plans i'm sure they get a better deal, just as a regular consumer we dont "need" it and there isnt alot of demand so thats how they make the money... if there was more demand then i'm sure the price would go down, but you never know,...

To Corey
Thanks for trying to help. I resent the service books, but that didn't do anything. I will have to wait until tomorrow to call Fido and have them disconnect and reconnect my service for BB connect. If that doesn't work, I'll let you know

We pay more in Canada simply because we say nothing. We are the heaviest taxed people in North America everything we do cost more and people here are simply complacent.
Our socialist governments know that we Canadians simply LOVE to pay more! Monopolies are created from that simple notion that governments know better. So the CRTC (Government Communications Gestapo) prevents real competition.
When a population is as complacent as ours we actually believe that Rogers, Bell, Telus and Fido are competitive business.
We do not have real investigative journalism so know one to lead the charge.
