Really. I still need my Lync client (the famous 60 days) and you can't customize ring tones.. I guess that must not be important to anyone but me.
And, as we know, you know what's best for everyone.
WP7 is a great concept. One day and it may grow up. It's better (and safer) than Android.

It appears that in Mango, users can customize their ringtones.

It's only been out 1 year. iOS didn't even have apps at 1 year, and Android was on like what, 2 devices on TMO. Give it time. Android was a jumbled mess, I would never go back to and iOS failed on the hardware this time.

So you are willing to wait for Windows Phone 7 to mature but the PlayBook isn't worth the wait?
A Microsoft OS without their IM client. I (personally) asked Ballmer about that and he shrugged his shoulders.

Your working with pre Mango information. In Mango, text messages, Facebook Chat and MS Messenger are all combined in the "Messages" application. You can switch back and forth between the 3 and it works pretty seamlessly from what I've seen so far.

I believe he is referring to Office Communicator

Yes, a commercial, enterprise version. OCS or Lync. There is even a crappy OCS client for the iThingies. Just not for Microsoft's phone. I have the "Mango" update installed in my WP7, thanks.

Re: PlayBook OS 2.0 not coming until Feb 2012?
A missing OCS/Lync client (I clarified it for you) is one of the major reason I don't use the WP7. It isn't ready yet. Just like the PlayBook.
Apology accepted for you not understanding what a corporate customer could want in a Microsoft device.

My wife pre-ordered hers. Nowhere near a real tablet like the Playbook, but it has everything she wants. I'm looking forward to playing around with it.

Since it has a Kindle app, it will instantly become more usable for me than my forlorn PB.

Re: PlayBook OS 2.0 not coming until Feb 2012?
According to this article it's being delayed until 2012 and it still won't have native email.
So long RIM. I'm done. I'm tried of being jerked around. No native email on PB. No BES email on the new QNX phones.
I'm moving to Android. I'm tired of defending this company and platform and I'm tired of getting screwed over.

Don't count on that. February 2012 is when RIM expects to release OS2 (and even then, not complete).

Not that I'm prepared to defend RIM on this point, but this article on how well Android updates actually make it to hardware over time does put things in perspective.
