Not clear on what you mean "get a bold".
The new BB 9000 (Bold) will alleviate many of your concerns regarding performance. Sorry I was not more clear.

i just have to say that i love people getting onto a bb specific site and asking the question "what is so great about balckberry's"...not only to you get a ton of views, but more often than not a lot of people defending the devices that we love!

cheers!

I love my Curve 8320. Ever since I started using it I have been hooked on this thing. I've had to do less battery pulls since I upgraded the OS and properly close applications I don't want running in the background. Otherwise I can do almost anything anywhere on it. I am waiting for my contract to expire to get the bold (have to switch to AT&T).

Nor can I. It's the best tool for business I have, and is used daily (almost hourly) never wants a raise, never complains, and I don't have to feed it!

I bought a Bold two weeks ago. My wife has had an iPhone for a couple years, and I far prefer the Bold. It's more reliable and works better (e.g. multitasking and alert systems).

I can't really speak for the Curve since I've only ever played with one, but I'd recommend a Bold to anyone looking for a very solid smartphone. The iPhone feels like a toy to me by comparison.

I have AT&T and am using the firmware that came on it. I think a lot of the problems people have with the Bold I'm reading here are due to obsessives installing every latest release, not considering it may actually make things worse. Mine is bulletproof.

Well you asked why it hasn't been "fixed", I had a World Edition for nearly two years and never had one problem with my track ball. It's all in how you take care of your equipment

ive been thru a few berries in my time (SEE SIG) and all the problems i have had were caused by me doing something stupid (like dropping it down the stairs )

look into a case or holster and keep it clean and you will have no problems. and if you do have problems, you always have your 1 year warentee

bb's aren't for everyone. iphone addicts will probably have a grouse against the bb and vice-versa.

my dad and brother are classic examples of bb converts. both of them used the bb software on their old sony ericssons, and thought that it was perfect and refused to even look at the blackberry. once the bold was released i bought them both Bolds and they haven't looked at any other phone since yay me!

i guess the little nuances of the bb might irke some people. i have no issues

I guess you just have to be sophisticated enough to know spelling and grammar to appreciate what's so good about Blackberries?
Well, golly geewilikers!!! I done discovered why I can't use the BB..

Actually I have only 2 problems with my BB.

1) My trackball doesn't work right. (But I am handy enough to be able to replace it with a new one)

2) No Flash!!!
