The update looks better. The menu is faster to appear, but a bit of a lag when scrolling through the menu items--this is tolerable. What is a bit of a pain is everytime I return to the message screen (e.g. entering it from the message list, returning from the Options screen), I have to wait about one full second for the contact picture to display. Not a very long time, but it produces that "laggy" feeling.

As others have mentioned, there is no way to see at a glance what is sent and what is recieved in the thread.

The About item in the Options menu doesn't display anything for me.

The description of the phone number still overlays the actual phone number in the header of the message thread.

Thanks.

Wirelessly posted

As mentioned above, the phone number description over lays the phone number on some contacts. Not a huge deal but would like to see it fixed.

The about section in the menu does not open.

Some bugs that may cause me to delete this...

You cannot paste when composing an SMS message when using the viewer. There's no option from the compose SMS screen to go native. A workaround is to read the SMS in the viewer then from that screen select go native. Once in native view, then reply to the SMS message and you have the option to paste.
Another bug I don't like is you don't have the ability to change the reply text color. It always types in purple. depending on what you set the background color to be, it could be very hard to read as you type.

The display picture seems to be locked at 48. I changed it to 72 and 96 but it always seems to revert back to 48.

While typing a reply, the text I was typing went behind the icons for the quick text and smilies. This can be a problem for those of us using SureType since we sometimes have to look to see if the correct word is selected. After pressing the space bar, the text wrapped to the next line where I could see it. It's only a problem while typing the word.

How do you change the text color for composing messages? All of the settings seem to be "reader" settings?

When I compose - the font is purple and I am barely able to read the message. Once sent and I am viewing the message it is in the format that I set up in the "options" menu.

Dear All, we are working on a new update of SMS Viewer with some of the requested features in this thread (like Options for Reply etc) This release we were focussed on getting the Reply functionality to work correctly - and next release we will add the color, styling etc.

We are also working on myFavs for which I have invited feedback from users who are having the bug / issue. Hopefully, we will have some development on that front as well.

Best Regards,
Ani.

I typically text anywhere from 100 to 200 a day so I'd be more than happy to give you feedback if you'd want

Arrow IMP: Expiry of beta and a newer version coming soon!

Dear All,
We will be releasing a newer version in a few hours from now. The current beta is set to expire on May 21st, so depending on what timezone you are on it has (or will) stop working in some time. So please don't be surprised if your start to see your SMS in native view again!

Also, with some feedback from Brian we are now working on the T-Mobile myFavs thing. If all goes well, we will be able to include support for T-Mobile myFavs in this upcoming release itself.

Thanks,
Ani.

To Install:
Please install the latest v1.4 from our website www.getempower.com or OTA at www.getempower.com/beta/sms/ Installing from the website will ensure that we are able to notify you when the final version is released.

Just installed.

My first impressions are that this is a great improvement! I like how the options are within the icon and not in the SMS options list. I wish it would keep the same settings as the previous version, but it's not too difficult to setup again. I do like how it kept the templates that I created.

Looking good .
